Job description

RQ is currently seeking experienced Construction Quality Control Managers (CQCMs) to join our growing Field Operations team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring construction projects are delivered safely, on time, and in compliance with the highest quality standards, with an emphasis on Department of Defense projects.

Current project assignments are based in the Norfolk, Virginia area and require a regular on-site presence at an active military facility. This role may also involve second-shift schedules depending on project demands. Local candidates are strongly preferred; however, relocation assistance may be available for qualified applicants.

Position Overview

As a Construction Quality Control Manager, you will oversee the implementation and management of project-specific quality control programs. Responsibilities include coordinating inspections, maintaining quality documentation, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, and supporting positive client relationships throughout all phases of construction. This role is essential to maintaining RQ's commitment to excellence, safety, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in positions such as Project Superintendent, Construction Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Quality Control Manager on comparable construction projects
  • At least 3 years of dedicated experience serving as a Construction Quality Control Manager
  • Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 safety requirements, hazard identification, compliance procedures, and sustainability practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer/internet applications
  • Experience with Viewpoint/Vista and RMS/QCS software platforms is a plus
  • Maritime construction experience preferred but not required
