Are you a highly organized, customer-focused professional who enjoys coordinating equipment, logistics, and operations? SEI is looking for a Rental Manager to oversee and grow our rental operations while supporting equipment logistics across multiple branch locations.

As a key member of our team, you'll coordinate rental equipment availability, deliveries, transportation, fleet utilization, customer rentals, and branch operations to ensure our customers receive the equipment they need, when they need it. You'll work closely with sales, service, transportation, and branch personnel to maximize equipment utilization, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive rental revenue.

Stephenson Equipment, Inc. has been an industry leader in Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, D.C., and Virginia since 1957, providing sales, rentals, parts, and service for construction equipment, cranes, paving, road building, and road maintenance equipment.


What You'll Do

  • Manage daily rental operations across three branch locations.
  • Prioritize and direct the daily activity of the rental technician.
  • Coordinate equipment logistics, deliveries, returns, transfers, and demonstrations.
  • Organize equipment at the Branch in the following categories: New, Trade In, Rent Ready, Rental Unavailable, Customer Owned โ€“ Repair Needed; Customer Owned โ€“ Repair Complete.
  • Grow the customer base by engaging in outbound sales calls to add new customers/generate rental activity.
  • Maximize rental fleet utilization and identify opportunities to increase rental revenue.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for rental customers and rental inquiries.
  • Prepare rental quotes, contracts, invoices, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with sales representatives to support customer needs and rental opportunities.
  • Work closely with service departments to schedule inspections, repairs, maintenance, and equipment readiness.
  • Monitor equipment availability, location, utilization, and attachment inventory.
  • Coordinate movement of rental equipment between branches and customer jobsites.
  • Ensure rental equipment is clean, inspected, and mechanically ready for delivery.
  • Track inventory accuracy and maintain rental fleet records.
  • Monitor and report lost rental opportunities.
  • Assist with yard organization and fleet management initiatives.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience every day.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

Required

  • Minimum 3โ€“5 years of experience in equipment rental, construction equipment, fleet management, logistics, transportation, operations, or a related field.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service, sales, parts, or related experience.
  • Certificate from a technical school, vocational program, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Preferred

  • Associate's degree or higher in Business, Operations, Logistics, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous, rental, fleet, or operations experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of equipment manufacturers such as JCB, LeeBoy, etc.
  • Experience within the construction equipment industry is strongly preferred.
