We are seeking an experienced and technically focused Design Coordinator to support the continued growth of our Mission Critical / Data Centers practice. This role offers the opportunity to support the architectural development of complex, technically sophisticated projects for national and international clients while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and detail-oriented professional with strong technical capabilities, and a passion for design quality, project execution, and supporting project teams.
As a Design Coordinator, you will contribute from early planning and conceptual development through project completion. This role requires a strong understanding of technical coordination, construction documentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and project delivery within complex mission critical environments.
Responsibilities
  • Translate concepts into clear technical documentation using Revit and visualization tools
  • Prepare and coordinate construction documents from schematic design through construction administration
  • Coordinate architectural and engineering documentation, including technical reviews, detailing, redlines, QA/QC, and interdisciplinary coordination
  • Collaborate with project architects, project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, and specialty consultant drawings.
  • Review drawings and specifications for completeness, quality, constructability, and code compliance.
  • Assist in managing project schedules, deliverables, and document milestones.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings and client presentations as required.
  • Support permitting activities and respond to jurisdictional review comments.
  • Assist during bidding and construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to maintaining firm BIM and documentation standards.

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial architecture and design. Experience with Mission Critical, Data Center or other technically complex project types is a plus.
  • Professional Architecture degree from a NAAB-accredited institution or equivalent
  • Advanced Revit and AutoCAD proficiency required; familiarity with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering tools preferred
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and coordinating construction documents for commercial, institutional, industrial, or complex building projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, and construction methods.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting project deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Typical office environment includes working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
