What is a construction analyst?

Construction analysts work with management and designers to evaluate expenditures and timelines of various projects to ensure they are cost-effective and that they comply with all project regulations. They follow a project from the design stage through completion, monitoring each phase and reporting back to management on the progress of the project and any concerns that may arise. This career requires a high level of practical knowledge in construction procedures, home design, cost data, and regulations. Qualifications to become a construction analyst include a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, and several years of experience in the construction industry. Some states require specialized certification for construction analysts.

How does a construction analyst typically collaborate with project managers and site engineers during the project lifecycle?

A Construction Analyst works closely with project managers and site engineers by providing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project schedules, and monitoring budget adherence throughout the project lifecycle. They often participate in regular project meetings to review progress, address potential risks, and recommend cost-saving measures or process improvements. This collaboration ensures that the financial and logistical aspects of construction projects align with organizational goals and timelines, while also keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.
