Job description

Job Title: Construction Accountant

Job Summary:

The Akula Group, Inc is seeking a highly skilled Construction Accountant to join our dynamic team.

The Construction Accountant will be responsible for managing financial operations related to land

development and construction projects ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining

compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting,

with specific experience in the construction industry

Key Responsibilities:

๏‚ท Assist with financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting and cost control.

๏‚ท Prepare and review financial statements and reports and analysis to ensure accuracy and

compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

๏‚ท Track and reconcile project expenses including materials and subcontractor payments,

๏‚ท Collaborate with project managers and other departments to provide financial insights and

support.

๏‚ท Monitor cash flow and ensure timely payment of customer invoices and vendor bills.

๏‚ท Conduct regular reconciliations of cash and credit card account.

๏‚ท Conduct regular internal audits to maintain accurate transactions

๏‚ท Review and post timekeeping transactions to support bi-weekly payroll processing.

๏‚ท Prepare bi-weekly payrolls and any state or federal payroll tax returns not already prepared by

QuickBooks.

๏‚ท Prepare and process Washington Business Occupation tax returns.

๏‚ท Prepare additional Oregon state tax returns as required.

๏‚ท Assist CPAโ€™s with the preparation of tax returns as required.

๏‚ท Prepare and file W-2โ€™s and 1099โ€™s

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelorโ€™s degree in accounting, finance or a related field. CPA/CMA preferred.

At least 3 yearsโ€™ experience in Quick Books Online in a full cycle workflow with multiple related

companies.

Preference given to those with experience in Intuit Enterprise Suite.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to include intermediate to advanced skills including pivot tables.
