Job Description
Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Engagement and Giving Programs for Parent Relations serves as a strategic relationship builder and ambassador, working to engage, cultivate, and generate philanthropic giving through the parent constituency. This role involves initiating meaningful relationships within the parent constituency through engagement opportunities and facilitating interactions that build trust and lead to deeper involvement with the College and philanthropic giving to the College.
Essential Job Functions
  • Works with the Director of Parent Relations and President's Club Programs and the team in the development of goals, strategies, tools, and tactics for significant growth for the parent constituency
  • Engagement Outreach
    • Develop and implement strategies that deliver year-over-year increases in overall parent constituency engagement through current and new events, parent ambassador programs, regional parent chapters, and other initiatives and activities.
    • Reach out to the parent constituency through calls, emails, digital channels, direct mail, and face-to-face meetings to foster meaningful engagement.
    • Provide the parent constituency with relevant information, updates, and opportunities to engage further with the College.
    • Share stories and content that deepen the parent constituency's understanding of and commitment to the Hillsdale College mission.
  • Philanthropic Giving
    • Develop and implement strategies that deliver year-over-year increases in overall parent constituency giving through the President's Club, mid-level giving programs, and major giving programs in partnership with the MGO and GEP teams.
    • Qualify leads and schedule remote meetings with unassigned parent constituency prospects with the goal of generating revenue through the President's Club program and other mid-level giving opportunities.
    • Achieve yearly revenue goals through prospect and donor calls made, new President's Club memberships added, and other mid-level ask strategies.
    • Work closely and collaboratively with the MGO, GEP, and PRD teams to assign parent-constituency prospects for further cultivation and stewardship through a major gift officer when justified.
  • Attend events and activities on campus and across the country that help to facilitate engagement, cultivation, acquisition, and stewardship within the parent constituency.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, and/or a combination of education, training, marketing, and donor cultivation experience that fulfills the needs of the position.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Inquisitive and an active listener who is adept at drawing out meaningful insights from prospects and donors.
  • Goal-focused on achieving engagement and philanthropic giving targets.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with experience working across multiple departments and teams.
  • Computer-literate, comfortable using email, CRM systems, and communications tools.
  • Passionate about the mission of Hillsdale College
