Job description

National Nurse-Led Care Consortium - Public Health VISTA
The NNCC VISTA Project places AmeriCorps VISTA members at leading public health and social service organizations across Philadelphia to build capacity, support underserved communities, and address the root causes of poverty. Host sites provide essential services such as affordable housing support, food access, chronic disease prevention education, and workforce development. These partners include supportive housing agencies, hunger relief organizations, and federally qualified health centers. VISTA members play a vital role in expanding the reach and sustainability of these efforts through volunteer recruitment and coordination, community outreach, program development, data and resource management, and grant writing.
Member Duties : Depending on placement, VISTA members may: 1. Coordinate community food distributions and launch new access points 2. Recruit and train volunteers to support families experiencing homelessness 3. Support outreach and education for chronic disease prevention and self-management programs 4. Develop digital communications strategies to raise awareness about public health services 5. Help nonprofit partners strengthen development and fundraising systems 6. Conduct data analysis to assess and improve programming effectiveness
