Job description

The Opportunity:
The CNET Group Research & Insights Manager role sits at the intersection of data, storytelling, and revenue enablement, partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, and Editorial teams in support of the broader ad sales/revenue organization. This role will play a critical role in translating data into actionable insights that strengthen client narratives, inform go-to-market strategy, and demonstrate the value of CNET Group’s audience and media solutions.
As a key contributor to the Research & Insights function, this individual will support pre-sales initiatives, ad effectiveness measurement, and custom research, helping to position CNET Group as a strategic, insights-driven partner to advertisers. This role requires a balance of analytical rigor and storytelling—connecting audience behavior, campaign performance, and market trends into cohesive narratives that drive both client confidence and revenue growth.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, is comfortable working across multiple stakeholders, creative and curious, and is motivated by the opportunity to shape how insights inform and elevate the sales process—from initial pitch through post-campaign reporting and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop data-driven storytelling and custom analyses for RFPs, proactive pitches, and go-to-market materials. Translate audience and behavioral data into clear, visually compelling, client-ready insights.
  • Support ongoing monthly and quarterly reporting initiatives leveraging tools such as Comscore, Looker, and Tableau to analyze audience, traffic, engagement, and competitive performance trends across CNET Group brands. Help maintain and evolve centralized insight libraries, reporting resources, and sales enablement materials to ensure cross-functional teams have access to accurate, scalable, and actionable insights.
  • Leverage tools such as Looker and Tableau to analyze performance data, build dashboards, and ensure data accuracy and clarity across deliverables.
  • Support brand lift and ad effectiveness reporting. Synthesize campaign performance into insight-driven narratives and executive-ready presentations.
  • Support end-to-end primary research initiatives leveraging agile insight platforms (e.g., Suzy, Alchemer, Qualtrics) to uncover actionable audience trends. Build scalable resources like insight libraries for team use.
  • Leverage AI tools (such as Google Gemini and NotebookLM) to enhance research efficiency, synthesis, and storytelling.
  • Strong curiosity and drive to learn and apply GEO and LLM measurement approaches to evaluate and improve how content performs across AI-driven search and tools, including visibility, accuracy, and impact on traffic and engagement
  • Collaborate across Sales, Marketing, and Editorial teams to ensure insights are aligned with business priorities and revenue goals, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in research, insights, analytics, or ad effectiveness, preferably within media or digital advertising.
  • Excellent creative storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Highly proactive, with a desire to discover and initiate new projects and lead/motivate others.
  • Proficiency in Looker, Tableau, or similar BI/data visualization tools.
  • Proven proficiency in driving primary research from start to finish using DIY research tools (e.g., Suzy, Alchemer, Qualtrics).
  • Knowledge of brand lift, campaign measurement, or advertising effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in running and analyzing syndicated data across platforms including, but not limited to Comscore, GWI, MRI Fusion, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to support various projects and changing priorities effectively in a complex, fast-paced business environment.
  • Comfort working with AI-powered tools (e.g., Google Gemini, NotebookLM) to support research and content development.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
