Job Description:

The Market Research Analyst serves as the “voice of the customer”, responsible for managing qualitative and quantitative primary market research projects. The candidate must be able to clearly understand and articulate key business questions & determine the methodology best suited to meet those objectives through optimal study design and execution. Additionally, they must be able to facilitate and lead discussions with cross-functional teams regarding implications and relevant recommendations based on those insights generated from primary and secondary research, and other analyses.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the design and execution of quantitative and qualitative market research studies
  • Strong research & quantitative analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize findings and develop practical, actionable recommendations
  • Translates business needs and questions into actionable research hypotheses and study designs
  • Consolidates analytics and behavioral data to tell the complete story
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to apply market research solutions across the organization
  • Champion the use of consumer data to improve decision-making throughout the organization
  • Works collaboratively with internal clients to define research needs
  • Manages and, at times, facilities usability sessions to support all digital facets of the organization
  • Processes and analyzes research data
  • Elicits a clear understanding of key needs and imparts results to internal clients
  • Responsible for shaping and editing external research vendor materials (questionnaires, presentations and summary conclusions)
  • And, more often, for developing your own research materials (survey instruments, programming, discussion guides, protocols, presentations and recommendations)
  • Supports the development of sales presentations through the use of proprietary and syndicated research

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in custom and syndicated research methods
  • Questionnaire development, survey programming and sample design
  • Strong analytic, quantitative, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently to high standards of quality and timeliness
  • Community development skills a plus
  • Knowledge of web analytics (e.g. Adobe, comScore), Scarborough and Tableau a plus
  • A willingness to adapt and be audience focused, with a curious mindset and a commitment to creating an inclusive work environment

The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines. This position is based in Boston, and candidates should be based in the area or willing to move.

The annual salary for this role is $75,000 - $85,000

This range reflects the band for this role. We are committed to fair and market-informed compensation. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates could be hired within the midpoint of the range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by their particular combination of skills, experience, and qualifications.
