Position Summary
The Strategist, Business Solutions plays a central role in the development and execution of strategic media plans for a variety of client accounts. This position is responsible for translating client objectives into actionable media strategies and ensuring the seamless execution of campaigns. The Planner will work closely with Assistants, Supervisors, and internal activation teams, contributing to client success through diligent research, thoughtful planning, and effective campaign management.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Team Support

  • Serve as a key day-to-day contact for internal teams, supporting the Supervisor in client communications.
  • Prepare and present media plan recommendations, campaign performance reports, and other deliverables with guidance from the Supervisor.
  • Assist in mentoring and guiding Assistants on the team, delegating tasks as appropriate.

Media Planning & Strategy

  • Take a primary role in developing comprehensive media plans across both traditional and digital channels (e.g., TV, audio, OOH, print, digital).
  • Conduct in-depth research using industry tools to uncover insights that inform strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure media plans are aligned with client KPIs and campaign goals.

Execution & Stewardship

  • Manage the end-to-end execution of campaigns, from creating media purchase authorizations (MPAs) and insertion orders (IOs) to trafficking and launch.
  • Monitor campaign pacing and performance to ensure delivery against objectives, providing optimization recommendations as needed.
  • Oversee campaign billing and reconciliation processes, working with the finance team to ensure accuracy.

Vendor & Marketplace Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media vendors.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate rates, and secure media placements under the guidance of the Supervisor.
  • Stay informed about the latest marketplace trends, technologies, and opportunities to bring innovative ideas to clients.

Research & Insights

  • Utilize a range of media research tools (e.g., Numeris, Vividata, Comscore) to gather data and generate insights for media planning and reporting.
  • Analyze campaign data to identify key trends and create reports that tell a clear performance story.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Media, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in media planning within an agency environment.
  • Solid understanding of both traditional and digital media channels.
  • Proficiency with media research and planning tools (e.g., Numeris, Vividata, Comscore).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
