Description
Computer Technician (Police)
This position analyzes tests, installs, maintains, and operates information programs and applications.
The employee will have the responsibility of:
• Routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and replacement of the public safety desktop computers
• Imaging, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs)
• Assigning, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting public safety mobile vehicles related programming and equipment, including mobile video systems and Cradlepoints
• Providing information on system and application functions such as, modifying user profiles, resetting password, performing server maintenance
• Maintaining mobile date communications with Bell County Communications
• Placing work orders with Bell County and monitoring related activity
• Attending meetings, training, and maintaining communication with Bell County Communication
• Troubleshooting, maintaining and supporting access control systems and video surveillance system at public safety facilities to ensure reliable operation
• Providing support for the operation and maintenance of the Real Time Crime Center and FUSUS technology platform

Required Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent, and
• Three (3) years' experience in computer technical support; or
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience
• A+, Security+, Network+, and Microsoft certifications are preferred
Special Requirements:
• Must have a valid driver's license by date-of-hire
• Must be able to pass a through background investigation, FBI criminal background fingerprint check, and have the ability to comply with state and federal requirements for criminal justice information security standards
