Job description

Sr. Systems Administrator

Location- Quantico, Va

Clearance- Top Secret

Salary- 140k-150k/yr

The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.

As a Senior Systems Administrator, the individual will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and operating computer systems and servers. In this role, the Systems Administrator will install hardware and software and participate in research and development.? In addition, the individual must work proactively to perform the duties necessary to mitigate the disruption of services, by responding to outages and promptly resolving problems.

Essential Functions performed by the Sr. Systems Administrator include:

Responsibilities:

  • Engaged in the operation and support of computer systems and peripherals for a large-scale government operation providing information technology common services to multiple agency tenant organizations

  • Works on virtualized environments, managing SANs/NAS devices, desktop services, and a variety of technologies supporting computing capabilities

  • Participates in complex operating systems, systems software planning and implementation, and production support activities

  • Interfaces with Contractor and Government personnel, confers with equipment and software vendors

  • Writes, edits, and prepares graphical presentations of technical information

  • Performs other tasks as required by OSC, and the Government contacting office

Required Education and Qualifications :

  • Must have Highschool Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be DoD 8570 certified at the IAT-II / IAM-II level, Security+ or higher

  • Must have a VMware certification (VCP), or Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate/AZ800 certification or previously held Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification or other functionally relevant, Administrator Role Based Microsoft certification

  • Required experience in VMware

  • Minimum of ten (5) years of progressive experience in operating computer systems

  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 24/7 military or governmental IT environment

  • Prior experience in an engineering data center environment

  • Must have extensive experience with virtualized environments, hyperconverged infrastructure, backup and recovery applications, desktop services, and a variety of technologies supporting computing capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service experience in a variety of circumstances across all organizational levels

  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, Active Directory Domain Services, DoD PKI and managing group policies

Work Environment:

The job is performed indoors at an office/cubicle setting at a military location
