Job description

Cybersecurity Systems Administrator, Wright City, MO
The Cybersecurity Systems Administrator supports the operation of the in-house and cloud computer systems. Achieves and maintains required security compliance. This also includes planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all server and network hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring minimal systems downtime. Provides diagnoses, resolves, and documents hardware and software systems problems in a timely and accurate manner and provides end user training and support where required. Responsible for day-to-day operations of the in-place security solutions as well as the identification, investigation, and resolution of security breaches detected by those systems. Other tasks may include involvement in the implementation of new security solutions, participation in the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures. This position is onsite until a probationary period has been met, then shift to more Remote. It is full-time Monday-Thursday (36 hrs./week) with flexible work hours.
Cybersecurity Systems Administrator Responsibilities:
- Participate in the planning and design of enterprise security architecture.
- Participate in the creation of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures).
- Support development and implementation of system infrastructure projects and new technology installations.
- Conduct research on technology products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems procurement and development efforts.
- Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT security industry, including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes, and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
- Recommend additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security.
- Perform the deployment, integration, and initial configuration of all new security solutions and of any enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with standard best operating procedures and the enterprise's security documents.
- Manage company virtualization system, overseeing and completing vendor/hardware qualifications, architecture/design, installation, configuration, migration and documentation.
- Develop hardware inventory and replacement cycles.
- Deploy new systems and network devices to include provisioning of access controls and monitoring.
- Coordinate and implement cloud and local distribution, installation and configuration of new Hardware and Software.
- Process system access requests including building new IDs, changing existing system access, processing deletes and trouble-shooting password issues.
- Establish virtual private network (VPN) facilitating seamless communications and business application data input and processing between central and remote office locations.
- Apply cybersecurity policies and procedures and implement system measures to ensure compliance.
- Interface with business managers, end-users and technical staff for provisioning of access.
- Manage cybersecurity training program for executive management and general staff.
- Ensure all processes are in compliance with NIST800-171 controls and maintain passing score.
- Work with cybersecurity vendors to apply appropriate solutions to maintain compliance requirement.
- Develop and successfully execute disaster recovery plan for all systems at off-site recovery facility and maintain current knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery plan executables. Respond to emergency system outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Maintain a System Security Plan (SSP) and perform cybersecurity assessments on on-going bases.
- Work with auditors to gather the proper information for compliance audits and submit the information in a timely manner.
- Review logs and reports of all in-place devices, whether they be under direct control (e.g., security tools) or not (e.g., workstations, servers, network devices). Interprets the implications of that activity and devise plans for appropriate resolution.
- Participate in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits.
- Provide on-call support for end users for all in-place security solutions.
- Maintain security solutions, including anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Maintain all systems hardware and equipment, including servers, routers, switches firewalls, and UPSs.
- Monitor and tests network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
- Receive and respond to incoming calls, messages, and/or e-mails regarding system problems.
- Recommend, schedule, and perform systems improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
- Practice I.T. asset management, including maintenance of system component inventory.
- Prepare, maintain, and adhere to procedures for logging, reporting, and systems monitoring.
Cybersecurity Systems Administrator Qualifications:
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
- Microsoft Certificate in Infrastructure.
- Knowledge in one or more hypervisor technologies implementation and management (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Xen Citrix, KVM).
- Solid Knowledge of systems administration in Windows Server environment including but not limited to Active Directory (AD), Distributed File System (DFS), and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- Knowledge in Microsoft Cloud Azure, Office365, One Drive, SharePoint and End-Point Security, Intune, Mobile Device Management (MDM).
- Solid knowledge of network and systems security protocols and encryption standards.
- Knowledge of DLP, Perimeter Defense, and End-point protection technologies.
- Experience with security architecture and system design.
- Familiarity with security compliance standards (e.g., NIST 800-171).
- Ability to develop and maintain IT security policies.
