JOB TITLE: Systems Administrator - USCG Academy
AGENCY SUPPORTED: U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCG)
LOCATION: New London, CT (100% On-Site)
POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
REMOTE WORK: No - On-Site Required
MINIMUM CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Secret Clearance (Active) ABOUT THE POSITION:
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCG) seeks a highly skilled and experienced Systems Administrator to join their IT team in New London, CT. This full-time, on-site position requires an active Secret clearance and offers a competitive salary and benefits package. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-user computing environments, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
* Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
* Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues to maintain optimal system availability.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new IT solutions and upgrades.
* Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, including patch management and vulnerability assessments.
* Provide training and guidance to users on IT systems and best practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar IT role.
* Extensive knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments and administration.
