Job description

SUMMARY:
Receive, store and issue materials, equipment, and other items from warehouse to fill customers' orders. Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include shipping merchandise or material, receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
  • Dispose of damaged or defective items or return them to vendors.
  • Keep records on the use and/ or damage of stock or stock handling equipment
  • Drive fork trucks in order to pick up incoming stock or to deliver parts to designated locations.
  • Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Provide assistance or direction to other warehouse/shipping & receiving workers.
  • Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouse.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Some outside work may be required unloading railcars.
  • Adheres to and understands GMP and Safety programs.
  • Understands and uses the Standard Operating Procedures for the area.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED and/or 2 years of related experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment preferred (training will be available)
  • Scanner experience preferred
  • Computer and software skills preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others orally or in writing.
  • Must possess excellent team management.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
  • Must be able to become certified and maintain certification through an OSHA approved forklift certification.
