Summary

PaperWorks is currently seeking a skilled Printing Press Operator to work on a full-time, permanent basis out of our facility at 120 Trillium Drive in Kitchener, Ontario.

We offer a competitive compensation package which includes health & dental benefits and disability benefits, as well as a group pension program. Starting hourly pay rate of $40.34, plus shift premiums and a discretionary bonus program.

This job has one available position. No Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used at any stage of our recruitment process. 

Responsibilities

The Printing Press Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of large-format, sheet-fed lithographic printing presses while maintaining quality meeting the customer specifications. The individual ensures conformance to all Health and Safety Policies, Rules and Regulations and general housekeeping standards. Meets or exceeds production, quality and efficiency requirements at all times. Duties also include:

  • Verify customer specifications for each product using computer system.
  • Follow and complete all work instructions for each job.
  • Check quality continually ensuring standards are met or exceeded. Perform quality checks prior to sending product downstream to the next work centre.
  • Operate a battery-operated walkie to transport product within and between departments.
  • Conduct make readies within company targets.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain printing equipment as required.
  • Record production data as required (paperwork and on computer system).
  • Perform general housekeeping and other related duties as required.
  • Ensure safe and efficient set up and operation of the printing equipment.
Qualifications
  • Successful candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience operating large-format, sheet-fed lithographic printing presses.
  • Must be able to work a rotating continental shift schedule.
  • Must possess strong English-language communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must successfully pass a colourblindness test.
