Job description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
The primary objective of the Infrastructure System Operator is to execute and monitor the running of all regularly scheduled processes for CI Global Asset Management's key business systems. Infrastructure System Computer Operators are also responsible for monitoring and ensuring the completion of the daily backups and all overnight tasks. Additionally, the Infrastructure System Operator is required to help various testing teams to perform a variety of tests.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Support of the company's production online and batch processing systems and associated scheduling tooling, across all LOBs - CISS, IWMS, Assante, DART/CRAS, IMS, CIIS, PARIO.
  • Support of all hub room facilities management (UPS/HVAC) across all locations
  • Responsible for managing system operations alerts and associated actions for production systems (NOC).
  • Set up, execute and monitor the running of all production processes
  • Execute and monitor specially scheduled production processes as instructed
  • Provide operational support for the jobs, escalating errors and issues as required
  • Monitor designated production processes running outside of the job scheduler: CMOD, SFTP, PDF delivery (replaces Print and deliver reports and letter output from jobs)
  • Manage the delivery of all output from processes, including the scripting of delivery of electronic output
  • Escalate errors and issues as per documented processes
  • Complete, sign and upload appropriate checklists for tasks
  • Communicate status via shift reports and upon request
  • Manage storage, delivery and inventory of backup tapes when delivered from Iron Mountain.
  • Ensure all requests sent to Sysops are responded to promptly
  • Review setup of all test cycles for quality purposes
  • Execute and monitor the running of all test cycles
  • Contribute to the overall functioning of the team
  • Assist in the training of other team members
  • Attend project meetings and provide sysops support and expertise as assigned
  • Maintain department documentation on SharePoint site, including Computer Operator Implementation Forms, policies, procedures and process calendar.
  • WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • 3-5 years in a System Operations
  • 3 - 5 years Network Operations Center (NOC)
  • 4-6 years IT Facilities management
  • Advanced knowledge of Service Now
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of Unix operating system, including scripting
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with CA AutoSys scheduling tool or equivalent
  • Experience in managing a NOC or centralized operations, including tooling
  • Ability to write procedure documents and verbally instruct other staff
  • Prior experience with information technology in a financial institution preferred.
  • Ability to work shifts

Education/Training

  • Bachelor's degree within a business, computer science or equivalent experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to write procedure documents and verbally instruct other staff
  • Detail-oriented, highly accurate and very organized
  • Proficient problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of the investment services industry
  • Ability to complete tasks efficiently and accurately, within set deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Office environment.
