Job description

Computer Hardware Technician - Stow, OH

Pay: From $17.50 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, plus overtime as needed

Household electronics are processed daily for recycling. Some items are disassembled for materials recovery, while others that can be salvaged are tested and refurbished by our Tech Center team.

Job Description:

As a Bench Technician, you will be part of our elite refurbishing and testing team. We have three core teams: desktop computers, laptop computers, and special products (everyday consumer goods/electronics/devices). Based on your previous experience we may consider you for one of our core teams. Inventory and customer needs may require cross-training and/or assignment to designated small project teams within our warehouse.

Responsibilities:- Perform baseline testing for assigned products and accurately document item condition, specifications, and functionalities.

  • Identify and change out essential components such as RAM, graphics cards, and hard drives to defined standards to meet project or customer needs.
  • Navigate BIOS systems and designate boot sequences to run and verify system settings and functionalities.
  • Test and reset a variety of consumer electronics, including smartphones, smart devices, car stereos, soundbars, and speakers.
  • Maintain productivity and turnaround of devices in a timely and professional manner.

Growth Opportunities:

There is room to advance within our Tech Center into roles such as inventory personnel, shipping team members, secondary testers (who perform more advanced testing and diagnostics), and repair technicians who handle component-level repairs.
