Job description

PC Analyst

Forsyth County Management Information Services is seeking a highly motivated, dependable professional PC Analyst with exceptional communication and technical skills to work with the Applied Technologies team. The successful candidate will have considerable knowledge of how technology can be integrated into the public sector environment for a variety of applications and purposes. Having the ability to plan and coordinate PC deployments, software installations, and related tasks will make this position engaging. Diagnosing and solving computer hardware/software issues will ensure that this position is very dynamic with new challenges each day. Experience with packaging and pushing out software, updates, and operating systems in an enterprise environment is a plus.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: configuring, assembling, testing, and installing new PC's; maintaining existing PC's; and diagnosing and repairing hardware and software malfunctions. The candidate will evaluate new PC-related hardware and software technology for applicability to County needs, and make recommendations. They will advise and consult with departments concerning acquisition and integration of technology with existing operations. Additionally, they will assist departments in developing budget requests for PC-related technology, determining their PC needs, and in the acquisition of software to meet those needs. The candidate will also assist users with software questions regarding procedures and applications, including backup procedures for micros. They will maintain system hardware and software configuration records and an inventory of system locations. Performs related work as required.
