Purpose of this position:
The Computer Analyst III supports the organization by overseeing the analysis, development, and optimization of complex computer systems and applications. This position ensures the reliability, security, and performance of both hardware and software environments while leading key technology initiatives that improve internal operations and user experience. The role maintains compliance with state technology standards, provides advanced technical expertise to departments, and enhances organizational efficiency through timely, accurate, and scalable IT solutions.
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
• Ability to work in person - not remote
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or a related field (Preferred)
• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Possession of CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification (or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe)
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, guide, and support technical staff
• Proven ability to manage workloads, prioritize tasks, and resolve issues professionally
• Experience supporting or managing digital platforms, web applications, or enterprise systems
• Familiarity with state technology standards, cybersecurity best practices, or data management protocols
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational abilities
• Proficient in system documentation, data integrity methods, and digital information systems
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Skilled in managing or supporting website content management systems or internal portals
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage multiple technical priorities and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds
• Must be punctual and maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Perform all duties in a professional, proficient, and pleasant manner

Primary Job Duties
• Analyzes, maintains, and optimizes computer systems, applications, and hardware to support departmental operations.
• Monitors system performance, conducts diagnostics, and resolves complex technical issues
• Updates system documentation, configuration logs, and asset inventories
• Manages data integrity through quality control, system audits, and adherence to security protocols
• Ensures accurate metadata, indexing, and accessibility for digital information systems
• Generates and reviews system reports to identify trends, errors, and improvement opportunities
• Provides technical support for both internal teams and external users, ensuring timely issue resolution
• Logs service requests, tracks progress, and ensures completion within established timelines
• Coordinates system upgrades, patches, and lifecycle replacement in compliance with standards
• Ensures proper documentation for changes, updates, and system retirements
• Supports the management and updates of digital communication platforms such as websites or internal portals
• Drafts technical updates, notices, and status alerts as needed
• Assists colleagues across IT divisions and provides expertise on cross-functional projects
• Provides backup support for team members during absences and peak workloads
