Job description

Air Compressor Service Technician

Responsible for providing preventative maintenance and repair to compressor customers in a timely and professional manner. Ensures total customer satisfaction and the integrity of the company and its products.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently executes airend rebuilds • Troubleshoots, overhauls, repairs and tests compressors, blowers, vacuum pumps and other industrial products • Balances rotor assemblies to specifications • Performs mechanical work on compressors, related products, building equipment and equipment • Provides professional troubleshooting and technical services in person or over the phone • Provides a high level of customer service in response to customer needs and satisfies their expectations • Promotes and practices proper safety procedures and the correct use of personal protective equipment at all times • Maintains a high level of quality control • Ensures all service equipment and tools are in good working order, clean and properly repaired including proper tooling and equipment calibration • Prepares and provides various reports as directed including but not limited to maintaining accurate records on airend rebuild, equipment and preventative maintenance programs • Completes customer work order forms and other job-related paperwork timely and accurately • Trains and assists other Service Technicians • Maintains cleanliness of shop • Optimizes sales potential with customers • Performs other related duties as assigned by management Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Must be friendly, courteous, service-oriented, flexible and enjoy working with a variety of staff • Must be detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines • Must have firm commitment to excellence and high standards • Strong communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively • Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, resourceful, and adaptable; able to work independently within team focused environment • Strong understanding of how to create highly satisfied customer • Ability to follow established policies and procedures with a safety-first attitude • Good reading, comprehension, technical aptitude, analytical skills, and basic computer knowledge • Demonstrated problem solving and process analysis skills • Good judgement skills with the ability to make timely and sound decisions • Good hand-eye coordination, excellent manual dexterity, able to work with small, detailed objects • Experience using mechanic tools, basic hand tools, pipe installation tools and equipment maintenance knowledge • Proficient in using measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers and dial indicators; understanding of clearances and tolerances • Knowledge of air compressor or other pneumatic mechanical equipment preferred • Basic electrical knowledge preferred • Must maintain valid Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) • Willingness to obtain and maintain necessary certifications required to operate equipment as directed by federal, state and/or local ordinances • Willingness to work hours outside of the standard schedule as needed, with appropriate notice when possible • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software
