Function: Product Management

Level: Mid to Senior (individual contributor; Radford P3-P4 equivalent)

Location: North America (Hybrid (or) remote; occasional travel to customer sites and internal offices)

Reports to: VP of Hosting Operations

Employment type: Full-time

Compensation: $140K - $160K

Role Summary

We are hiring a Product Manager for License Compliance & Entitlements to own how our enterprise customers are provisioned, configured, and governed against the scope of their contracts. Our customers run single-tenant deployments across three hosting models - instances we host, instances hosted in the customer's own cloud, and on-premises installations - which makes consistent, defensible license compliance both harder and more important.

This person will operate at the intersection of product, compliance, sales, engineering, support, and legal. They will analyze customer configuration and usage data to confirm customers are operating within contracted scope, build the tooling and product roadmap that prevents license misuse before it happens, and equip our go-to-market and support teams to have clear, data-backed conversations with customers about entitlements. A defining challenge of this role is governing how customers connect to our platform's APIs through AI services (e.g., MCP servers / agentic tools) and RPA/integration platforms (e.g., Boomi) - determining how that access maps to licensing and building the policies, tooling, and contract language to manage it.

This is a builder's role for someone who is equally comfortable in a usage-data spreadsheet, a product roadmap review, a contract redline, and a customer-facing call.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance analysis & customer usage review

  • Review customer user configuration and usage data across all deployment models (vendor-hosted single-tenant, customer-cloud single-tenant, and on-premise) to verify customers are operating within the scope of their contracts.

  • Identify patterns of license misuse, overage, or ambiguous usage, and translate findings into clear, evidence-based summaries.

  • Establish repeatable methods and metrics for measuring entitlement compliance across a diverse enterprise customer base.

Governing API, AI-service, and RPA access

  • Define how programmatic access to our APIs - including via AI services / MCP servers and RPA or integration tools such as Boomi - is licensed, measured, and enforced.

  • Partner with product and engineering to design entitlement models and controls appropriate for automated, machine, and agent-driven usage.

  • Anticipate emerging access patterns and get ahead of them with policy, tooling, and contract clarity.

Product roadmap & tooling

  • Own a product roadmap of compliance and entitlement feature improvements, prioritized by risk, revenue impact, and customer experience.

  • Work with engineering to improve administration and entitlement tooling so that license misuse is prevented or surfaced automatically rather than caught after the fact.

  • Balance enforcement with usability so that controls protect the business without creating friction for legitimate customers.

Cross-functional enablement & go-to-market

  • Partner with the sales team to audit customers, present usage data, and support true-up / expansion conversations with credible, well-presented evidence.

  • Equip the support team ahead of product releases - especially releases that change or restrict license usage - so they can confidently answer customer questions on product changes.

  • Create customer-facing materials, including training content, release notes, and sales presentations, that clearly explain usage policies and entitlement changes.

Contracts & legal partnership

  • Contribute to the improvement of customer contracts to clarify permitted usage, close ambiguity, and reflect new access models (including AI/RPA API access).

  • Partner with the legal team to update contract language and licensing terms, and to ensure product controls and contractual terms stay aligned.

Customer & prospect engagement

  • Join customer and prospect-facing calls to explain our usage and licensing policies and answer questions with authority and clarity.

  • Serve as a trusted, plain-spoken voice on "what's allowed and why," representing both the company's interests and a good customer experience.

Cross-Functional Partnerships

This role is highly matrixed.
Success depends on strong working relationships with:

Partner team Nature of the partnership

Sales Audits, usage data storytelling, true-up / expansion support

Engineering Admin & entitlement tooling, enforcement controls, telemetry

Support Release readiness and enablement on license-affecting changes

Legal Contract language, licensing terms, enforceability

Product & Design

Roadmap alignment, admin experience

Required Qualifications

  • 3-7+ years in product management, license/entitlement management, or software compliance - mid-level candidates toward the lower end, senior candidates toward the higher end.

  • Direct experience with enterprise software in a B2B context, ideally with single-tenant, customer-cloud, and/or on-premise deployment models.

  • Demonstrated experience with software licensing, entitlements, or license compliance (from the vendor/publisher side is strongly preferred).

  • Product management capability: has owned a roadmap, prioritized across stakeholders, and shipped features or tooling in partnership with engineering.

  • Strong data fluency - able to analyze usage/configuration data, spot anomalies, and turn findings into a clear narrative and recommendation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to produce customer-facing materials and represent the company confidently on customer and prospect calls.

  • Comfort operating cross-functionally across sales, engineering, support, and legal, and influencing without direct authority.

Preferred / Differentiating Qualifications

  • Experience with AI service licensing and/or governing programmatic API access via AI/agentic tools (e.g., MCP servers) or RPA / integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft, Workato).

  • Familiarity with API productization, usage metering, or consumption-based licensing models.

  • Experience supporting customer audits, true-ups, or revenue assurance.

  • Exposure to contract structure and negotiation and working alongside legal on licensing terms.

  • Background in software asset management (SAM), GRC, or entitlement platforms.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; MBA or relevant certifications a plus but not required.

What Success Looks Like (First 6-12 Months)

  • A clear, repeatable method for reviewing customer configuration and usage against contract scope, applied across the enterprise base.

  • A prioritized entitlement/compliance roadmap agreed with engineering and product leadership.

  • A defined position and initial controls for AI-service and RPA API access licensing.

  • Sales, support, and legal equipped with the data, materials, and language they need for customer conversations and the next release cycle.
