Job description

Senior Product Sourcing & Development Manager (Battery-Powered Residential Equipment)

Jersey City, NJ (Onsite)

$175,000–$225,000 + Bonus (DOE)

Position Overview

An established consumer products company is seeking a Senior Product Sourcing & Development Manager to lead the end-to-end sourcing and development of battery-powered consumer products. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role responsible for identifying new products, sourcing world-class manufacturing partners, driving product innovation, and bringing new products from concept through commercialization.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and has deep experience sourcing consumer products throughout Asia while managing the full product lifecycle.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 7+ years of product sourcing and product development experience
  • Experience sourcing consumer products from China and other Asian manufacturers
  • Strong vendor negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Proven ability to identify new product opportunities and market trends
  • Experience managing products from concept through production
  • Analytical, commercially minded, and highly organized
  • Comfortable traveling internationally several times per year
  • Mandarin language skills are a strong plus
  • Engineering or technical background preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and develop new battery-powered consumer products
  • Build relationships with global manufacturing partners
  • Negotiate pricing, tooling, MOQ's, production timelines, and quality standards
  • Identify market opportunities and recommend new product launches
  • Manage the complete product development lifecycle
  • Partner with engineering, design, packaging, sales, and sourcing teams
  • Monitor competitive products, pricing, and consumer trends
  • Improve supplier performance, costs, and operational efficiencies
  • Travel internationally to factories and supplier meetings (approximately 2x year)
