The Product Sourcing Manager plays a critical role in our Sourcing team, leading efforts to identify, evaluate, and collaborate with suppliers to ensure the availability of quality materials and components. Reporting to the Senior Director of Sourcing, the role involves strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contributing to the overall success of Purple's product development and manufacturing.

Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate terms, and manage relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance, to align sourcing activities with project timelines with a focus on new product development

  • Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry dynamics to inform sourcing decisions.

  • Monitor and assess supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with the Product Development team to identify new materials and components that align with product requirements and innovation goals.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in sourcing and procurement.

Required Skills, Education, Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product sourcing or a related role.

  • Proven experience in negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers.

  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Familiarity with sourcing software and tools.

  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
