Overview

St. Joseph's Villa is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Community Engagement Coordinator to join the Advancement Team. The Community Engagement Coordinator is a member of the Advancement Team and serves under the direction of the Director of Community Engagement. This role supports the day-to-day implementation of the Villa's volunteer, in-kind, and community engagement efforts, ensuring a seamless and meaningful experience for volunteers, donors, and community partners.

Working closely with program leaders across campus, the Coordinator helps identify mission-related needs that can be met through volunteer service and in-kind support and helps translate those needs into well-organized, high-impact engagement opportunities. As a highly visible, relationship-centered role, the Community Engagement Coordinator serves as a welcoming ambassador of the Villa and plays a key part in strengthening community connections that enhance organizational capacity and advance the Villa's mission.

All work is performed using a team-based model, to the highest ethical standards, safely and effectively, and in accordance with regulatory requirements and the Villa's mission, values, and guiding principles.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 4:30pm

Salary: Starting at $50,000

Responsibilities
  • Supports the implementation and continuous improvement of the Villa's volunteer program under the direction of the Director of Community Engagement.
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for all volunteer and in-kind inquiries; manages third-party collection drives and fundraisers, including maintaining the CF Engage volunteer platform.
  • Coordinates logistics for volunteer projects, including scheduling, setup, sign-in, and supply procurement.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Community Engagement, conducts organization-wide needs assessments and aligns volunteer, intern, and in-kind donation support with program and client priorities.
  • Handles tasks related to new volunteer onboarding including processing applications, coordinating interviews/screening, references, and background checks.
  • Supports the Director in welcoming volunteer groups to campus and transitioning them smoothly to projects and service leaders. Supervise as appropriate and ensure a positive volunteer experience.
  • Maintains comprehensive volunteer and in-kind donation records within the Raiser's Edge database, ensuring accurate tracking of hours, meetings, engagement activity, and donated items to support reporting, stewardship, and strategic resource planning.
  • Maintains accurate records of community campus utilization - including events, trainings, meetings, and facility use - to evaluate engagement levels and demonstrate the Villa's community reach and impact.
  • Manages inventory of supplies and records the distribution of donated items to the appropriate Villa program. Coordinate with consistent in-kind supporters for monthly updates on needed items and clients impacted.
  • Collects photos and stories of volunteer experiences for social media and other platforms.
  •  Serves as backup support to the front desk, offering a welcoming first point of contact for visitors, volunteers, donors and community partners.
  • Supports the execution of seasonal initiatives like Back to School and Season of Hope.
  • Updates and maintains Amazon Wishlist and works with the Director of Marketing and Public Relations to ensure the website remains up to date with real-time in-kind needs and volunteer opportunities.
  • Maintains and updates volunteer and in-kind policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with best practices for volunteer conduct, safety, and risk management.
  •  Supports Advancement Office events as appropriate.
  •  Perform other duties as assigned.

Must have excellent communication skills, organizational skills and be extremely detail-oriented.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field or years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with a team.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail required.
  • Experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge strongly preferred.
