Overview

The Manager, Communications is an innovative, independent, and well-connected strategic storyteller who amplifies campaigns to drive consumer awareness for hotels, resorts and restaurants. This entrepreneurial-minded leader must be an agile thinker, a proactive self-starter, flexible with process, open to evolving how work gets done and be outcome- and impact-driven.

In this role, the Manager, Communications will serve as the day-to-day client lead for DH Communications, the in-house PR agency solution from Davidson Hospitality Group. The individual will be responsible for creating thoughtful plans and executing strategies with the overall objective of promoting hotels, resorts and restaurants to guests and customers through target national, regional and local media relations as well as key influencers.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience at a hospitality, travel or lifestyle-focused PR agency managing multiple accounts
  • Proven track record and continued ability to generate steady stream of placements in key media outlets (print, digital, and broadcast)
  • A robust network of longstanding, personal media contacts
  • Proven track record of innovation in past roles
  • Demonstrated flexibility and solution oriented
  • Exceptional writing skills, including AP Style
  • Polished presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinker
  • A genuine understanding and palpable enthusiasm for hospitality industry 
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet business demands
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • A Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or comparable experience
  • Experience utilizing Muck Rack or similar media tracking/management tools
  • Experience demonstrating ROI for PR through Barcelona Principles reporting
