PURPOSE

Responsible for developing and implementing strategic external communications designed to engage, inform and support MGIC's key initiatives consistent with our brand, investor relations, government relations, and market engagement objectives.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements describe the general nature of work performed by people assigned to this job, may not be performed by all individuals in this job, and are not a complete list of all job duties required.

  • External corporate communications, media relations and media strategies
  • Lead development of corporate message points supporting public policy and media communications
  • Coordinate with Investor Relations to ensure alignment of messaging with equity research analysts/investors and other external stakeholders
  • Maintain library of message points, presentations, and other informational artifacts for use by MGIC co-workers, including senior management, for public speaking opportunities and to support written communications (blogs, articles, etc.)
  • Lead efforts to increase Sales Team understanding and awareness of housing and mortgage market trends, and how these trends may impact our customers and the broader market
  • Write and lead distribution of press releases and other strategic communications
  • Assist senior management and Sales leadership in developing presentations and speech writing
  • Collaborate with MI industry peers on industry messaging and promotions through USMI and other coordinated initiatives endorsed by senior management
  • Internal corporate communications, supporting business domains (ex, technical and/or confidential comms - e.g., legal, HR, etc.)
  • Up to 20% Travel as required (trade group and industry conferences)

EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND

  • Strong writing skills

  • Distills complexity, communicates simplicity
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex financial concepts
  • More than 7 years of recent experience performing advanced work in area of specialization

FLSA: This position qualifies for the Administrative exemption as the employee is required to exercise discretion and independent judgment in managing projects that have significant impact on interrelated business units and company-wide use of technology tools.

Pay Range:

$109,990.00 - $186,990.00

This range aligns with current market data and reflects our commitment to competitive and equitable compensation. Salary offers are based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and training. The range may vary in certain locations to reflect local market conditions. It is not typical to initiate pay at the top of the range to account for internal equity and allow for future and continued salary growth
