Job description

Position Summary
The Account Director is responsible for the development of ongoing business relationships from the onboarding stage through existing account management. The Account Director leads and manages a large piece or book of business and client engagements. The position is responsible for the overall client satisfaction, quality of service, and on-time, on-budget completion of the agency’s services.

Primary Focus
Overall health and growth of assigned client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and expand strategic relationships beyond day-to-day client contacts, including procurement, director-level stakeholders, adjacent business units, and former client partners.

  • Provide oversight and strategic direction for major opportunities, proposals, and initiatives within the assigned book of business.

  • Own individual client P&L performance and contribute to overall group P&L, ensuring alignment with profitability targets.

  • Lead assigned accounts in partnership with the Creative Director, ensuring alignment on relationship and business objectives, prioritization of work, and effective resource allocation.

  • Drive the development and execution of organic growth plans, including management of action plans, revenue targets, and progress accountability.

  • Serve as the escalation point for internal and client-side concerns, ensuring timely issue resolution and risk mitigation.

  • Define and implement KPI measurement strategies with clients; lead Quarterly Business Reviews and similar frameworks to assess performance, deliver insights, and guide program optimization.

  • Support cross-functional teams on key projects and new business opportunities as needed.

  • Assess staffing requirements and manage account team resources to align with client demands and revenue projections.

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development for assigned account team members.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years experience working in a marketing or advertising environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
