As part of MGI’s global network—which has grown since its founding in 2016 to serve customers across six continents with global research, manufacturing, and training facilities—we connect the North America scientific community with world-leading technologies and expertise.

Backed by a dedicated local team providing responsive, on-the-ground support, we offer tailored solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers, fully embodying our vision to lead life science innovation and our mission to develop and promote advanced life science tools for future healthcare.

Position Summary

As we accelerate our growth in North America, we are seeking a dynamic and highly accomplished Director of Sales, North America, who will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market adoption of STOmics spatial omics solutions, and building a high-performing commercial team across North America. This role will report to the CEO and lead the North America sales strategy, develop key customer relationships, and partner with cross-functional teams to accelerate business growth in academic, translational, and biopharma markets. The ideal candidate combines deep life science sales leadership experience with a strong understanding of genomics, spatial biology, NGS, or related research tools markets. We are considering both Director and Senior Director levels for this role, with final leveling determined based on the candidate's experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver Revenue Growth

  • Develop and execute the North America sales strategy to achieve annual revenue targets.

  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline across academic and industrial customers.

  • Lead complex sales opportunities and strategic account development.

2. Build and Lead the Sales Team

  • Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and sales processes.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.

3. Expand Market Presence and Strategic Partnerships

  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders, research institutions, and biopharma companies.

  • Represent MGI US at industry conferences and customer meetings.

  • Partner with Marketing, FAS, and Product teams to strengthen customer engagement and market adoption.

4. Business Planning & Operations

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and business reports.

  • Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs.

  • Provide regular business updates and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

  • Manage sales budgets and optimize commercial investments.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biotechnology, or related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive commercial experience in life sciences, genomics, biotech tools, or related markets.

  • 5+ years of sales leadership experience managing regional or national sales teams.

  • Demonstrated success exceeding revenue targets and scaling commercial organizations.

  • Experience selling complex scientific instrumentation, genomics platforms, sequencing technologies, or advanced research solutions.

  • Strong understanding of the academic research and biopharmaceutical customer landscape.

  • Proven ability to manage strategic, high-value sales opportunities and enterprise accounts.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a relevant scientific discipline.

  • Experience in spatial biology, spatial transcriptomics, NGS, single-cell analysis, multi-omics, pathology, or related fields.

  • Established network within leading U.S. academic institutions, cancer centers, and biopharmaceutical companies.

  • Experience launching innovative technologies in emerging life science markets.

Additional Information

• Location: Remote (U.S. based)

• Territory: North America

• Travel & Expense: Up to 50% travel required (including customer visits, conferences, and key account meetings).
