Job description

Working under the overall direction of the Director of the Employment Alliance, the Employment Services Lead will be responsible for a combination of leadership and direct support tasks. Leadership tasks include but are not limited to direct oversight of employment specialists, involvement in intake processes, support with reporting and billing functions, and other administrative tasks. Direct support tasks may include but are not limited to any employment supports provided (job coaching/development, pre ETS, assessment, travel training, etc.) through our OPWDD, NYS Commission for the Blind and ACCES VR funding streams. To support the mission, vision and values of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.

Pay rate for this position:  $25.86 - $28.11 / hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting


Leadership:

  1. Provide direct oversight of and support to assigned employment specialists. This includes but is not limited to mentoring and coaching, training, caseload management, records maintenance, billing and other quality reviews, communication with support teams and funders as needed.
  2. Support employment specialists with crisis management, workplace conflicts and barriers to services.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with community partners including OPWDD, ACCES-VR, NYS Commission for the Blind, businesses, agencies and school personnel, etc.
  4. Administrative tasks as directed by supervisor: billing audits, compass reviews, scheduling, other as directed.

Direct Support:

  1. Support individuals with disabilities both on and off the job site, developing work related skills or providing pre-employment/assessment services.
  2. Use a variety of teaching techniques to assist the individual with being successful in his/her job
  3. Work with the person receiving services, employer and co-workers, to help them build good working relationships
  4. Complete and submit required documentation, hand written or electronic
  5. Identify and implement any needed safeguards at each job site, to ensure the safety of the person receiving services
  6. Maintain communication with the person receiving services, and members of his/her support team, and Director of Employment Alliance, as needed
  7. Maintain the privacy of the individual’s personal information in accordance with HIPAA, including storage of documentation during non-working hours
  8. Attend all scheduled training required by Heritage Christian Services. Participate in staff meetings and staff training sessions, implement new procedures as communicated by Director of the Employment Alliance

 

TRAINING REQUIRED:

ACCES VR: Complete required trainings as outlined in the CRS Guidelines. Core Rehabilitation Services | Adult Career and Continuing Education Services | NYS Education Department


  • Bachelor’s Degree in education/ human services/business related field strongly preferred. Minimum of high school diploma and 3 years’ experience in relevant field. Leadership experience is desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license that follows Heritage Christian Services’ motor vehicle record standards, and reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to work a rotation of shifts including flexibility with schedules is required.
  • Ability to work independently is required.
  • Experience working with diverse populations is highly desirable. Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with individuals to further assure their growth and development are required.
