About this opportunity

The Sr Director, Business Innovation and Services – EMEA, will have responsibility for driving profitable growth of strategic channels across all countries that comprise the EMEA region. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, dynamic individual who will oversee the business performance and provide strategic direction to startup business models as well as adapting and redeploying proven business models and best practices from across the world to EMEA. They will focus on understanding the current market/industry situation, developing insights into future market and technological trends, as well as identifying and investing in the highest impact opportunities and building capabilities necessary to unlock these opportunities. They will drive the business through exceptional leadership skills, consistently championing and supporting the Align culture, with a focus on reaching optimum performance on an individual and team basis.

The Sr Director reports to the Global VP of Business Innovation and DSO and will be based out of any EMEA office location, preferably Birmingham (UK); Madrid (Spain) or Rotkreuz (Switzerland) and will also sit on EMEA Leadership Team.

In this role, you will…
  • Creatively think and strategise about the possibility of new business models and revenue streams that would complement Invisalign and iTero adoption outside of Align’s standard / core commercial activities.
  • Partner closely with the Country and Regional Leadership and their teams to develop business strategies and plans that both shape and support the overall business of the region.
  • Lead new projects across the EMEA region focused on the 4 strategic pillars of business innovation (i) practice partnerships and digitization (ii) innovative business models (iii) access, conversion and affordability and (iv) strategic partnerships.
  • Be the key opinion leader on cross‑functional teams in order to provide voice of sales and EMEA in cross‑functional and global projects.
  • Align with the corporate strategy & finance teams to create financial models and scenarios to support new and ongoing business planning and modeling.
  • Analyze market research and data to develop and strengthen business cases and scenarios. Commission research where necessary.
  • Travel and be in customer facing environments estimated 30‑40% of role.
  • Other duties may be assigned or involvement in other cross‑functional global projects.
In this role you will need…
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years sales, business development and sales strategy experience.
  • Direct sales management experience preferred.
  • Medical device experience preferred.
  • Outstanding financial acumen, including resource allocation, budget management and reporting, strategic sourcing, and P&L evaluation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence the organization.
  • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Ability to effectively translate and synthesize analytics into key business objectives and findings to drive strategic decision making.
