Job description

Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Director of Regulatory Compliance - Facilities Management to support operations at Tufts Medical Center, a complex, urban academic medical center. This senior leadership role is responsible for the strategic oversight, development, and execution of all regulatory compliance programs within Facilities Management. The Director will ensure continuous readiness for The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory agencies, with a strong focus on implementing and optimizing the Physical Environment standards framework.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive Facilities Regulatory Compliance Program aligned with The Joint Commission (PE standards), CMS Conditions of Participation, and applicable NFPA codes (NFPA 99, NFPA 101).
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Joint Commission PE standards, including interpretation, mapping, and implementation.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into actionable workflows, policies, and CMMS-integrated processes.
  • Establish and maintain a system-wide continuous survey readiness program, ensuring a 24/7 state of compliance.
  • Lead mock surveys, tracers, and rounding programs across Environment of Care (EOC), Life Safety, and Utilities.
  • Develop and manage risk-based methodologies, including Safer Matrix prioritization, to address and resolve deficiencies.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to drive timely correction of findings and ensure sustained compliance.

What You Bring
  • Proven leadership experience in facilities regulatory compliance within a healthcare environment, preferably in a large academic medical center.
  • Deep knowledge of The Joint Commission standards (especially Physical Environment), CMS Conditions of Participation, and NFPA codes (99 and 101).
  • Demonstrated experience leading survey readiness programs, mock surveys, and regulatory inspections.
  • Strong understanding of Life Safety programs, including ILSM, SOC management, and deficiency resolution.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, operational processes and systems.
  • Experience working with CMMS platforms and integrating compliance workflows.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
