Job description

Behavioral Health Scheduler

Be the first point of care as a Behavioral Health Scheduler Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours weekly. In-office while training.

As a Behavioral Health Scheduler, you'll play a vital role in supporting our clients' access to timely, person-centered behavioral health services. As the first voice many of our clients hear, you'll help create a welcoming experienceensuring appointments are scheduled accurately, client information is up to date, and communication flows seamlessly between team members.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and enjoys making a difference through exceptional customer service and attention to detail. You'll support a compassionate team of providers and be a key player in delivering accessible, integrated care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer high volume of incoming calls and assist clients with scheduling, rescheduling, and general inquiries
  • Schedule appointments for multiple behavioral health providers across various locations
  • Verify and update client information, including contact details and insurance
  • Explain the Open Access process to clients seeking to begin services
  • Accurately document call details and update the care team accordingly
  • Coordinate interpreters when needed for scheduled appointments
  • Follow up with clients who missed appointments to assist with rescheduling
  • Manage Psychiatry Provider schedule changes, cancellations, and backfilling appointments
  • Collaborate with front desk and department staff to ensure scheduling accuracy
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA compliance at all times

Education, Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

High School/GED preferred

Preferred Experience: Experience with behavioral health scheduling preferred Experience with multi-line phone systems preferred
