Job description

Overview

The Scheduler is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support necessary to ensure efficient clinical delivery of care for the patients and staff of a given interdisciplinary group, coordination of the schedules, the teams in the group, data entry of clinical documentation, and communication with patients, physicians, and staff. Support Clinical staff with their administrative needs.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Performs patient-centered scheduling duties, utilizing the Epic scheduling system, and assigns cases to appropriate interdisciplinary team members. Ensure visits are scheduled for patients appropriately, within agency standards for initiation of services, and maintaining consistency for patient visits as much as possible.
  • 2. Ensures efficient and organized operations
  • 3. Runs reports for clinicians and clinical managers to ensure completion of clinical documentation
  • 4. Responsible for tracking and ordering patient supplies under the direction of the members of the interdisciplinary team
  • 5. Checks weekly timesheets for correctness and interacts with clinical staff to fix errors. When payroll is done through time and attendance, checks details against schedule. Takes responsibility for getting accurate payroll information to the payroll department promptly.
  • 6. Handles phone communication with patients, families, and physician offices as appropriate

Qualifications
EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is required.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with an ability to work independently and multi-task. Knowledge of EPIC and Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
