Registered Nurse (RN) - Intake (Per Diem DAY and NOC)
Aurora Behavioral Health System - Tempe, AZ
Aurora Behavioral Health System, Arizona's largest free-standing psychiatric hospital system, is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intake Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and skilled nurse who wants to make a meaningful impact in behavioral health.

Position Overview
The Intake RN plays a key role in the admissions process, ensuring safe, accurate, and compassionate evaluation of incoming patients. This role requires strong clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for incoming patients
  • Initiate and document individualized care plans
  • Provide professional nursing care in alignment with hospital policies and standards
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery expectations
  • Delegate tasks and supervise support staff
  • Collaborate with physicians, intake clinicians, and behavioral health teams to ensure high-quality care

Qualifications
  • ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program
  • Active Arizona RN license (required)
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Eligible for an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

Schedule & Work Setting
  • Per Diem
  • willingness to pick up both Day and Night shifts if needed. Minimum of 4 shifts per month and one of those shifts must be a weekend day.
  • On-site at our Tempe, AZ inpatient psychiatric hospital
