GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:

  • Delivery of commissary orders/products to individual inmates in an assigned area within a correctional facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect inmate orders (per facility procedures if applicable).
  • Process commissary orders through computerized commissary software program (if applicable).
  • Research and/or answer Offender requests and/or written complaints concerning commissary services.
  • Unload and verify orders/product received at correctional facility from the USCS Distribution Center.
  • Conduct inventory counts of products as assigned.
  • Supervise inmate workers (if applicable)
  • Transport orders/product to assigned delivery area within the facility.
  • Stock/Inventory clean Vending machines as necessary.
  • Positively identify all Offenders receiving orders prior to delivering each order.
  • Distribute the order to the Offender; permit the Offender to verify the order contents.
  • Note any and all discrepancies with or damages to the order on all copies of the delivery receipt.
  • Obtain signature of Offender receiving the order on delivery receipt (per facility procedures).
  • Provide Offender with copy of delivery receipt.
  • Retain a signed copy of the order receipt for record retention.
  • Account for all delivery receipts from the delivery process.
  • Account for all non-delivered commissary orders from the delivery process.
  • Retain and dispose of all trash generated during the delivery process.
  • Preform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Essential Functions

  • Retain and maintain a correctional facility security clearance.
  • Lift orders or packages which weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Attend initial and annual facility orientation and training and remain current in any certifications as required by the Facility.
  • Know and follow all rules, regulations, security policies and procedures of the correctional facility.
  • Know and follow the policies and procedures outlined in the company’s employee handbook and USCS’s local Operations manual.
  • Complete additional/miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Commissary Manager/ Supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • Basic computer skills
  • Two years of work experience
  • Good customer service skills

Must be Covid vaccinated or be willing to be Covid tested weekly.
