Commercial Real Estate Leasing Attorney
Atlanta, GA or Bethesda, MD

Our Client is seeking a mid-to-senior level Commercial Leasing Attorney to join its Real Estate Group in our Atlanta, GA or Bethesda, MD office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial leasing and the ability to manage transactions independently while delivering practical, client-focused legal advice.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead counsel on commercial leasing transactions
  • Draft and negotiate leases and related agreements, including:
    • Letters of intent
    • Work letters
    • Assignment and transfer documents
    • Lender subordination agreements and SNDAs
  • Advise clients on market lease terms and risk considerations
  • Represent landlords across multiple asset classes, including office, retail, and industrial sectors
  • Manage leasing transactions from initial negotiation through execution
  • Work directly with clients, brokers, property managers, and opposing counsel
  • Collaborate with partners and supervise junior attorneys as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial leasing
  • Active bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction
  • Experience with office, retail, and industrial leases
  • Strong knowledge of leasing market standards
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple matters efficiently
