Collection Paralegal – Onsite in San Antonio, TX


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Collection Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team in our San Antonio office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support our firm’s homeowner’s association practice, working closely with attorneys, litigation paralegals, and collection assistants to ensure efficient and effective collection processes. If you have a strong background in collections, legal procedures, and client communication, we encourage you to apply and become a vital part of our collaborative environment.


Key Responsibilities:

- Assist attorneys, litigation paralegals, and collection assistants with the firm’s homeowner’s association collection practices.

- Prepare initial and final demand letters for assessments owed by homeowners associations.

- Manage non-judicial foreclosure proceedings, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and deadlines.

- Review and finalize payment arrangements with delinquent homeowners, as prepared by collection assistants.

- Assist in negotiating payment plans and updating account information as necessary.

- Ensure accurate billing of all work products related to collection activities.

- Maintain detailed and organized case files, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date.

- Communicate effectively with clients, homeowners, and internal team members regarding collection status and procedures.

- Support the legal team in other collection-related tasks as needed to meet firm goals and deadlines.


Skills and Qualifications:

- Paralegal certification or equivalent legal experience, preferably in collections or real estate law.

- Proven experience in non-judicial foreclosure proceedings and collection processes.

- Strong understanding of homeowner’s association assessments and related legal procedures.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to review, draft, and finalize legal documents accurately and efficiently.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

- Proficiency in legal billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing collections and foreclosures in Texas is preferred.
