Job description

Overview:

The Prep Cook produces required cold prep items in kitchen to forecasted business. He/she reviews production sheets, BEOs (Banquet Event Orders), and par sheets in order to prepare for the day's events. The Prep Cook also produces all cold food presentations for buffets, banquets and a la carte. This position finishes desserts for a la carte, buffets, and banquets. He/she prepares all food to the highest quality and appearance in accordance with approved recipes. When needed, this position helps out on pantry, hot line, and/or omelet station.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produces required cold prep items in kitchen to forecasted business.
  • Reviews Production sheets, BEOs (Banquet Event Orders), and Par sheets in order to prepare for the das events.
  • Produces all cold food presentations for buffets, banquets and a la carte.
  • Finishes desserts for a la carte, buffets, and banquets.
  • Prepares all food to the highest quality and appearance in accordance with approved recipes.
  • Helps out on pantry, hot line, and/or omelet station when needed.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): or Work Equivalent
  • Experience with food preparation and handling.
  • Must have good understanding of the English Language.
  • Ability to compute basic arithmetic and to comprehend and follow recipes with the appropriate cooking techniques.
