About the role
As a Progress OpenEdge Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable enterprise applications using Progress OpenEdge technologies. You will be a valued member of the Application Development team and work collaboratively with architects, business stakeholders, QA teams, and cross-functional IT teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned to business needs.
In this role, you will:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Progress 4GL/OpenEdge
  • Build and support REST and SOAP web services for system integrations
  • Develop object-oriented OpenEdge solutions leveraging modern design practices
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide ongoing support
What you need to have to be considered
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Progress OpenEdge development
  • Proficiency in Progress OpenEdge (11.7 & 12.2), 4GL, PASOE, AppServer, and GUI programming
  • Proven experience with object-oriented programming in OpenEdge
  • Hands-on experience building web services (SOAP/REST) and system integrations
  • Strong experience with performance tuning, debugging, and application optimization
  • Deliver high-quality OpenEdge application development across the full SDLC
  • Drive integration solutions using APIs, XML, and JSON
  • Improve performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Provide production support and resolve complex technical issues
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and web technologies
  • Experience with .NET OpenClient development
  • Knowledge of Claims domain
  • Experience with API programming
  • Familiarity with SVN and SQL
  • Extend solutions to modern web-based integrations

  • Bring domain expertise to accelerate delivery in claims-based environments
  • Strengthen API-driven architectures
  • Improve development efficiency using version control and database best practices
Work model: Hybrid preferred
