JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to an assigned manager or director, responsible for independently analyzing, defining, and creating technological solutions for multiple and/or critical IT systems to solve business problems and meet organizational needs. Serves as the primary technology owner for a designated technology area. Level III of III in Analysts.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
  • Performs technical analysis of applicable data to produce products and solutions to resolve technology-related business problems
  • Provides advanced technical consulting and support services as needed
  • Analyzes and tests new or existing procedures and develops alternative workflow solutions
  • Performs moderate to complex computer systems and server environment analysis work to ensure stable systems for all users throughout the County
  • Analyzes and defines business processes associated with system enhancements
  • Participates in designing and maintaining system configuration and setup
  • Makes technical decisions to best complete tasks and projects
  • Designs and delivers training programs
  • Trains and assists Analyst I and II positions as necessary

  • Performs vulnerability scans of networks and applications to assess effectiveness and identify weaknesses
  • Performs technical risk assessments and reviews of account permissions
  • Performs forensic analysis of information systems and portable devices and forensic recovery of data using assessment tools
  • Monitors systems and procedures to protect data systems and databases from unauthorized access.
  • Researches and analyzes cybersecurity threat indicators and their behaviors for the prevention, detection, containment, and correction of data security breaches, and recommends threat mitigation strategies
  • Supports the implementation of computer system security plans with agency personnel and outside vendors
  • Trains users and promotes security awareness to ensure system security and improve application, server, and network efficiency
  • Supports privacy impact assessments and assist in documenting/organizing data privacy and policy requirements
  • Assists with basic data classification and tagging based on policy
  • Monitors and maintains SIEM tools
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MS365 Azure/AD
  • Leads integration of Azure Active Directory with Exchange Online and on-premises Exchange, ensuring proper synchronization of mailboxes, security policies, and user identity management
  • Configures and manages hybrid Exchange environments, including Azure AD Connect and Exchange hybrid configurations for seamless coexistence between on-premises and cloud-based systems
  • Administers and maintains user accounts, distribution groups, and shared mailboxes within both Exchange and Azure AD environments
  • Ensures proper configuration of mail flow, email routing, and mailbox permissions across hybrid environments
  • Oversees mailbox migrations, troubleshooting, and any issues related to synchronization or email access
  • Collaborates with IT security, infrastructure, and helpdesk teams to design, implement, and optimize Exchange and Azure AD solutions.
  • Configures and enforces security policies for email systems, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Conditional Access policies for Exchange and Azure AD
  • Monitors and responds to security threats and incidents related to Exchange Online and Azure
  • Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) for email data and user authentication
  • Acts as a senior point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to Azure AD, Exchange, and hybrid configurations
  • Maintains clear, detailed documentation of system configurations, integration setups, troubleshooting procedures, and security protocols
