Job description

The Cloud Support Engineer Lead is primarily responsible for implementing and maintaining process for the Support team. These processes must oversee the health of applications in development and production environments. This individual will work with complex technologies while solving unique challenges within the Azure Cloud environment. These processes must oversee the health of applications in the production and development environments.The role reports to the Project Lead.


Responsibilities

  • This person will work on a high performing team providing 24 x 7 x 365 coverage.
  • Understand and analyze complex cloud/SAAS infrastructure architectures
  • Ability to trace observability and transaction data for complex business transactions
  • Analyze incidents and work to provide immediate resolutions and/or root causes.
  • Understand API application business domain knowledge.
  • Monitoring design: The process of defining and documenting the metrics that are used to analyze the usage and stability of the system.
    • Includes analysis of consumers and dependencies and provides metrics that will be used to observe the health of the components.
    • Creating and maintaining dashboards used for monitoring the applications.
    • Creating and maintaining alerts used for proactive exception based monitoring the applications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot applications in multiple environments (development and production).
  • Provide support and analysis during deployments to multiple environments.
  • Create and maintain documentation for support and monitoring procedures.
  • Provide reporting of API performance and incidents to owning teams.
  • Work with internal/external clients including (QA, developers, architects, and business analysts) to provide technical support.
  • Coordinate and organize team's daily activities and schedules.
  • Prioritize and assign incidents and issues for analysis.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, System Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field, with emphasis of study in systems analysis and 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure support, OR7+ years of experience with any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.
  • Able to work/support after hours and weekends as scheduled.
  • Hands-on problem solver who enjoys continuous learning and improvement.
  • Self-motivation, ability to stay focused, and multi-task.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new technologies and business domains.
