Job description

Vouch is the insurance broker that powers ambition.

Weโ€™re a tech-enabled insurance advisory and brokerage purpose-built for growing companies in technology, life sciences, and professional services. Our clients are ambitious leaders building complex businesses, and we help them manage risk with tailored advice, smart coverage, and responsive service.

Backed by over $200M from worldโ€‘class investors, Vouch combines deep industry expertise with AI-powered tools to deliver a better insurance experience. Our digital workflows reduce friction, speed up decisions, and give our clients the confidence to move faster.

Why you should join our team and Vouch?

Not only is this an exciting and growing team where you can drive a real impact on our operational scalability, but Vouch is also the preferred insurance provider to customers of Y Combinator, Brex, Carta, and WeWork. Weโ€™re a quickly growing startup that believes in transparency and acknowledgment with our team members and cultivating a valuesโ€‘driven company. Our values are "Be Client Obsessed", "Own it together", "Act with integrity and empathy", "Stay Curious and Grow", and "Empower People".

What does a work environment look like at Vouch?

Vouch has employees located across the U.S., with offices in San Francisco, Chicago, and New York City. While this role has hybrid work flexibility, we require team members to be in the office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) to foster close collaboration and team building.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Own and grow a strategic book of commercial insurance accounts ($1M+ revenue), serving as a trusted senior advisor to founders, CFOs, and executive stakeholders at ventureโ€‘backed companies.
  • Lead endโ€‘toโ€‘end renewal strategyโ€”including proactive risk advisory, coverage gap analysis, and clientโ€‘facing program recommendations that anticipate business growth milestones (new funding, headcount expansion, international entry, new products).
  • Drive retention and revenue expansion by identifying upgrade and crossโ€‘sell opportunities independently, building a point of view on each clientโ€™s evolving risk profile, and acting on it.
  • Manage complex coverage conversations across Management Liability (D&O, EPLI, Fiduciary), Cyber/Tech E&O, GL, Professional Liability, and Workersโ€™ Compensation with depth and confidenceโ€”without relying on escalation for standard coverage questions.
  • Partner with the Placements team as a strategic peerโ€”bringing client context, funding stage intelligence, and risk narrative to market submissions.
  • Support new business by engaging during lateโ€‘stage sales conversations and ensuring a highโ€‘quality handoff from Sales that sets the client relationship up for longโ€‘term success.
  • Operate with a high degree of independence and ambiguityโ€”managing competing priorities, complex client situations, and crossโ€‘functional coordination without close managerial oversight.
  • Contribute to team development by sharing coverage knowledge, mentoring Client Managers, and participating in onboarding and training initiatives as the function scales.
  • Leverage AIโ€‘powered tools (Vouch proprietary systems, AI copilots) to increase coverage accuracy, renewal efficiency, and client communication qualityโ€”and actively identify opportunities to improve workflows.
About You
  • 5+ years of commercial insurance brokerage experience, with a demonstrated track record of independently managing a complex P&C book.
  • Deep coverage knowledge across General Liability, Management Liability, Cyber/Tech E&O, and Professional Liabilityโ€”able to lead substantive coverage conversations with Cโ€‘suite executives without support.
  • Active P&C License required.
  • Proven ability to manage highโ€‘touch client relationships at Series Aโ€“C companies or equivalent complexity, with direct experience navigating fundingโ€‘stage triggers, boardโ€‘level dynamics, and rapid growth environments.
  • Strong retention and growth track recordโ€”can point to specific accounts retained, expanded, or recovered through proactive advisory.
  • Operates autonomously: sets priorities, manages workload, and makes quality decisions with limited managerial direction.
  • Excellent communicatorโ€”able to translate complex insurance concepts into plain language for nonโ€‘expert audiences and influence internal stakeholders across functions.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and changing conditions; adapts quickly without losing quality or client focus.
Nice to Have
  • Exposure to and passion for earlyโ€‘stage startups and/or highโ€‘growth environments.
  • Experience with Fintech, Web3, SaaS, Enterprise AI, and Professional Services accounts.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation and equity packages
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Wellness allowance
  • Companyโ€‘sponsored personal and professional development
  • L&D: Partnerships with Ethena and monthly Lunch & Learns
  • Wellbeing: access to many wellbeing perks, including Peloton, Fetch, OneMedical, Headspace care+, etc.
  • Caregiver Support: company seed into the dependent care FSA and company sponsored Care.com membership.
  • Regular performance reviews: Vouch conducts regular performance discussions with all team members, offering goal setting and checkโ€‘ins, development discussions, and promotion opportunities.
Interview Process
  • 30โ€‘minute phone call with our recruiting team
  • 30โ€‘45 minute video interview with the hiring manager
  • Case study/technical screen
  • Meet the team! 30โ€‘45 min 1:1 video discussion with 3โ€‘4 team members youโ€™d work closely with in the role
  • Executive chat
