Job description

Dinsmore is seeking a Director of Marketing.  Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer, the Director of Marketing will lead the firm’s overall marketing strategy, brand positioning, regional marketing, marketing operations, marketing technology and digital strategy across all offices and practice groups. This individual will partner closely with firm leadership, practice group leaders, and business development teams to drive visibility, strengthen client relationships, and support revenue growth initiatives. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive firmwide marketing strategy aligned with business objectives 
  • Partner with firm leadership and practice groups to identify growth opportunities and market positioning strategies 
  • Establish and monitor marketing KPIs, reporting on effectiveness and ROI 
  • Oversee brand management, ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications 
  • Manage website strategy, SEO/SEM initiatives, and digital campaigns 
  • Oversee marketing technologies 
  • Oversee client events, sponsorships, and firm-hosted programs in collaboration with BD teams 
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing team 
  • Collaborate with business development and client success teams 
  • Manage external vendors, agencies, and consultants as needed 
  • Align marketing initiatives with client development strategies 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred 
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment (AmLaw 200 or large regional firm experience preferred) 
  • Proven track record of partnering with BD teams to achieve marketing and business development goals
  • Demonstrated success leading firmwide or multi-office marketing strategies 
  • Strong understanding of legal marketing, client service models, and partnership environments 
  • Experience managing teams in complex, matrixed organizations 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
