Position Purpose
The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading a team of individuals in completing timely and accurate accounting for our business partners. This individual will also help to support the leadership team in the overall company initiatives.
This role supports multiple clients simultaneously in a multi-client accounting environment. Success in this position requires strong organization, comfort switching between clients and systems, and the ability to manage recurring deadlines across different engagements. This role is best suited for someone with experience in an accounting firm, outsourced accounting group, or similar multi-client setting who enjoys variety, structure, and client-facing work.
What You Will Do
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate accounting principles and PBI processes.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with client personnel.
  • Respond to client requests and inquiries.
  • Coordinate special projects for clients.
  • Take primary responsibility leading new client onboarding process.
  • Review staff accountant period close work.
  • Review monthly or period financial statements (as applicable)
  • Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes.
  • Meet reporting and filing deadlines.
  • Advise other PBI staff regarding the handling of non-routine transactions.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools and automation platforms to improve client accounting workflows and support team adoption.
  • Monitor profitability of client services using available reporting tools and evaluate feasible solutions.
  • Provide training and development to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Support recruiting efforts by participating in candidate interviews and providing feedback on role fit.
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Previous leadership experience (i.e., building, developing and supervising a team, being a driver of company initiatives, project leadership, or similar)
  • 5+ years relevant accounting experience with progressive responsibilities
  • Experience with accounting software and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Precise attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with colleagues in team focused environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Displays professionalism and confidentiality among clients and staff.
  • Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under pressure of deadlines.
