Job Summary

The Accounting Manager is a client-facing leader responsible for driving client satisfaction, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering high-value advisory services while overseeing offshore teams that execute day-to-day accounting operations. This role blends accounting expertise with a commercial mindset, focusing on expanding client relationships, identifying needs, and positioning the firm’s services as strategic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management & Growth

  • Serve as the primary trusted advisor and relationship owner for assigned clients
  • Build deep client partnerships, understanding their business models, challenges, and growth objectives
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and increase account value
  • Lead client conversations that position the firm as a strategic partner—not just a service provider
  • Drive client retention, satisfaction, and revenue growth

Needs Identification, Advisory & Solutioning

  • Proactively identify client accounting, operational, and financial needs, risks, and inefficiencies
  • Assess client processes and uncover opportunities for improvement, automation, and scalability
  • Translate client challenges into tailored service offerings and solutions
  • Recommend and help implement value-added services (e.g., process optimization, reporting enhancements, system improvements, internal controls)
  • Partner with leadership and business development teams to scope and price new engagements or expanded services

  • Interpret and present financial results to clients, highlighting key trends and insights
  • Provide actionable recommendations to support business decisions
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning discussions

Process Improvement & Scalability

  • Identify opportunities to standardize and optimize delivery processes
  • Implement best practices to improve margins, efficiency, and scalability
  • Drive adoption of tools, automation, and new service offerings

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
  • 6+ years of experience in accounting, advisory, or outsourced accounting services
  • Proven success in managing and growing client relationships
  • Experience working with offshore or distributed teams preferred

Technical & Business Skills

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounting platforms (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, etc.)
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify revenue opportunities
  • Experience scoping services, pricing, or supporting sales efforts is a plus
