We're building a modern Client Accounting & Advisory practice that partners directly with business owners and high-net-worth individuals to manage and optimize their financial operations. We're looking for a Client Accounting Manager to lead multiple client engagements, own the accounting process end-to-end, and serve as a trusted advisor to businesses in the San Diego market.

This role is ideal for someone coming from a Client Accounting Services (CAS), outsourced accounting, or multi-client environment who enjoys onboarding new clients, performing assessments of existing accounting methods, and advising on next steps.

What Work You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Manage a portfolio of client accounting engagements, serving as the primary point of contact

  • Own the month-end and quarter-end close process across multiple clients

  • Review and prepare financial statements (GAAP or tax basis) and communicate results to clients

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including GL, reconciliations, A/P, A/R, and payroll

  • Work hands-on in QuickBooks and other cloud-based accounting platforms

  • Identify process improvements and help clients streamline and scale their accounting operations

  • Support client onboarding, including assessing current processes and implementing best practices

  • Build strong client relationships and proactively provide insights beyond basic reporting

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff and seniors

  • Develop a working knowledge of the client's business, take responsibility for completing assigned tasks, and meet client deadlines.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent field is required

  • 4 - 10 years of accounting experience ideally in:
    - Client Accounting Services (CAS)
    - Outsourced Accounting
    - Public Accounting with multi-client exposure

  • Proven experience managing multiple clients and priorities

  • Strong understanding of full cycle accounting and financial statement preparation

  • Comfortable working directly with clients and presenting financial results

  • CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent Certification

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in outsourced / contract accounting roles

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and cloud-based accounting tools

  • Experience onboarding new clients, performing assessments of existing accounting methods, and advising on next steps.

The salary range for this position is between $125,000.00 - $185,000.00.
