Job Summary

Title: Claims Support Representative

You'll Report To: Claims Operations Lead

The Claims Support Representative will function in a team environment and share in responsibility for handling duties in support of the claim organization, including accurate processing of vendor invoices, assistance with securing policy information, handling of claim and general mail, claims dispatch, and claim settlement documents. The Claims Support Representative will also communicate with both external and internal customers as needed to ensure a seamless customer experience during their time of loss. 

Responsibilities
  • Ensure delivery of excellent customer service through fast and accurate processing of notices, communication, and coordinating with other departments to resolve claims.
  • Build and maintain business relationship with clients by providing prompt and accurate service so as to promote customer satisfaction.
  • Function in a team environment and share in responsibility for handling duties in support of the claims organization, include: accurate processing of vendor invoices, assistance securing policy information, handling of claim and general mail, dispatch of claims and claim settlement documents.
  • Communicate with customers, agents, and other partners verbally and in writing in a professional manner.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation on all claim files.
  • Meet company service standards and effectively uses the diary system to remain current.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.  College Degree preferred.

Experience: One (1) to three (3) years prior experience in an administrative role/function. Insurance industry experience is preferred. 

Knowledge: Specific knowledge of homeowner's insurance and / or additional education would be preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail is required.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word. Excel is preferred.
  • Ability to balance timeliness and accuracy.
  • Ability to listen and communicate clearly while maintaining proper confidentiality.
  • Strong decision-making and problem solving skills.
