The FIS Division is currently searching for a Claims Operations Associate in our downtown Cincinnati office. The Claim Operations Associate is an entry-level position that provides administrative and operational support to the Claims team. This role is ideal for candidates beginning their career in insurance or claims operations. Great American's culture is built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on-site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in-office days are Tuesday-Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs. The initial training period will be 5 days a week in-office.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
  • Assists with setting up new claims and entering basic information into claims systems.
  • Provides administrative and claim processing support to the Claims department.
  • Organizes, prepares, and maintains claim file documentation and records.
  • Makes initial contact with claim-related parties (such as insureds or agents) following established procedures.
  • Gathers required documents and information to support claims handling and investigations.
  • Enters claim notes and updates claim activity under guidance from the claims team.
  • Follows company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements when handling claim-related tasks.
  • Learns and uses claims systems and internal tools with training support.
  • Develops foundational knowledge of insurance concepts, claims processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Works collaboratively with team members and asks questions as needed to learn the role.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Office, administrative, customer service, or data entry experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
