Job description

Our client, a well-established and highly respected AM Law 200 firm, is looking to add a Corporate Partner to their growing team. Rochester NY is the preferred location, but the firm is also open to candidates in Buffalo NY, Albany NY or New York City. A portable book of business is not required for this role.

The Corporate Partner role will encompass the following responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee complex mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, financings, and other strategic corporate transactions
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities to expand and deepen client engagements across practice areas
  • Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups to deliver integrated legal solutions for clients in connection with complex transactions, regulatory challenges, and strategic business initiatives
  • Counsel clients on corporate governance, fiduciary duties, entity formation, restructuring initiatives, succession planning, compliance obligations, and other business-critical legal matters
  • Supervise, mentor and develop associates and counsel within the Corporate & Securities practice group
  • Contribute to firm leadership initiatives, strategic planning, and business development efforts

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
  • A minimum of ten years of corporate law experience
  • Experience advising complex mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital or corporate governance
  • Must be admitted to practice in New York State
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient leader who excels in client service, team development and practice growth

The firm offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefit package. At this time, the good faith estimate of the annual salary range for this position is $175,000 to $450,000. This salary range represents the firmโ€™s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for the position and does not include performance or merit-based bonuses or other benefits offered by the firm. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidateโ€™s years of experience, qualifications, skill set and location.
