Kids Ministry Assistant

The Kids Ministry Assistant is a passionate follower of Jesus, who is growing in their

faith, loves the local church, and follows the leading of the Holy Spirit. They will

believe in and wholeheartedly support the mission, vision, and values of Community

Church Playa.


Church Description:

Community Church Playa exists to help people find and follow Jesus. We desire to be

a church where people know Jesus, live connected, and serve boldly. Every member

of our staff plays an important role in creating a welcoming environment where

people of all ages can encounter Christ and grow in community.


Position Description:

We are a vibrant, welcoming church family that exists to help people find and follow

Jesus. Our Kids Ministry shepherds our nursery, preschool and elementary aged

children and plays a vital role in nurturing the next generation with the love of Christ

in a fun, safe, and engaging environment.

We’re looking for a warm, reliable, and enthusiastic Kids Ministry Assistant to support

our Kids Ministry Director in creating meaningful Sunday experiences for our children

and families, with a primary focus on caring for nursery-aged children (ages 6-24

months).

The Kids Ministry Assistant will report directly to the Kids Ministry Director.


Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Kids Ministry Director in preparing for Sunday ministry, including

purchasing supplies, preparing lessons and crafts, organizing classrooms, and

assisting with administrative needs.

• Help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where children can

learn about Jesus.

• Primarily care for infants and toddlers (6–24 months), providing attentive, loving

care throughout Sunday gatherings.

• Assist with classroom teaching or transitions as needed.

• Help with classroom setup and teardown each Sunday.

• Assist with children's check-in and help families feel welcomed.

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe ministry spaces.

• Follow all child protection policies and safety procedures.

• Perform other ministry-related responsibilities as assigned by the Kids Ministry

Director.


Ideal Experience:

• A heart for children and a passion for helping them know Jesus.

• Reliable, organized, and proactive with strong communication skills.

• Experience serving or working with children (church, school, childcare, or camp)

• Able to work collaboratively while taking direction well.

• Willing to complete a background check and all required child safety training.


Work Expectations and Compensation:

• Part-time, hourly position

• Compensated at $30.00 per hour

• Sundays: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

• Up to two additional hours per week for preparation, meetings, or ministry support

as needed
